These clients faced that problem; they needed to make the most of their small garage by being thoughtful about how it was organized. We, of course, knew that clutter would exacerbate the issue, so we opted for a half wall of paneling and some cabinets. The idea is that the cabinets are off the ground, allowing space for vehicles, but are not too close to the back of the cars such that they would make it difficult for passengers to get in or out of the car.
The final result was absolutely perfect. We left space for the ladder, trash can, and tool box, yet provided a place to put paint & other equipment away out of sight. We also put down an epoxy, providing durable protection to the concrete and making the space feel finished. The homeowner absolutely loved it. They were thankful that, since they had to stick with the small garage, it would at least be an organized small garage.
